FAQs

Why Join DMK?

Delta Mu Kappa - Alpha chapter is Purdue’s only entrepreneurship and innovation-centered co-ed fraternity. As a brother, you would be a part of a group filled with the most motivated and inventive minds at Purdue. Our goal is to go above and beyond at fostering a community of innovators who can help one another and advance society. Brothers also have the opportunity to attend many entrepreneurship-centered events and speakers, such as trips to Seattle and Silicon Valley to tour start-ups such as AirBnB, and will be a part of organizing various Entrepreneurship-focused events on campus. Many of our brothers are also involved at startups and have even created their own companies, such as the DMK alum-founded Socio.

How is Delta Mu Kappa different from other professional fraternities?

One distinguishing feature of Delta Mu Kappa is its unique focus on entrepreneurship and fostering an environment of collaboration and empowering one another. Our chapter is also one of the pillars of Purdue’s entrepreneurship ecosystem and has developed professional connections with other entrepreneurship-centered organizations on campuses throughout the Midwest, as well as reputable startups.

What is the Rush/Recruitment process like?

The Rush/Recruitment process consists of social and professional events in which applicants can interact with current brothers and become more familiar with the fraternity. The potential pledge will then fill out an online application and will be notified of their bid within a few weeks.

What is the pledging process like?

The pledging process begins after a student has been extended a bid offer and has accepted. The student will then spend the entirety of the semester immersing themselves in the Delta Mu Kappa community, learning about the history of the fraternity and Purdue’s entrepreneurship ecosystem. They will also participate in a mock-accelerator to gain first hand knowledge about creating a startup.

What type of students are you looking for?

We encourage students of all majors and backgrounds to apply, and have no particular ideal applicant. We do encourage people who are interested in entrepreneurship and are extremely passionate about their field and major, as well as those who enjoy collaboration and would thrive in a community of other motivated students to apply.

Can I rush again if I am not selected the first time I apply?

Yes, if a student isn’t selected the first time they rush, they are permitted to reapply in the following semesters, as long as they still meet the application requirements.

Who do I contact if I have more questions?
